Increased throughput for e-commerce and warehouse logistics with the combination of Motoman robots and WSR solutions software for trouble free shipping and easy shelf stocking at the retail
Yaskawa, in cooperation with WSR is adding more versatility in material handling and fulfilment of automation solutions. The unique combination of the high performance Motoman robots and WSR mixed palletizing software and grippers.
The well-known challenge for warehouse automation solution providers is to increase productivity, while reducing the cost and time to deploy. The WSR mixed palletizing solutions combines manual/automatic order picking with automatic mixed palletizing, and together with Motoman robots able to work in close to each other, this leads to a small footprint which enables integration into existing facilities.
The result is a mixed pallet which can be shipped and depalletized at the customer site with ease.
"We have a long term and very satisfying cooperation with Yaskawa, mainly based on jointly devising and delivering a complete framework for the changing logistics market requirements", Marcel van Schijndel CEO of WSR Solutions, explains. "Together we develop and produce innovative mixed and de-palletizing solutions that serve one purpose: to optimize the customer's supply chain with efficient, flexible, and smart automation solutions."
Workplace advantages
Because manually picking, placing, and palletizing various objects for long hours in a facility is hard work and potentially dangerous, it is also increasingly challenging to consistently staff these jobs. Improving the working conditions, as well as the career opportunities for employees, are important for material handling and logistic providers. Automation has long been desired, but programming robots to recognize and adapt to on-the-fly changes has been too difficult and time-consuming. Now, the unique combination of Yaskawa’s powerful, high-performance robots with WSR’s mixed palletizing software are designed to assemble mixed pallets that are ready for easy shelf restocking at the retail store.
"We are pleased to be further intensifying and expanding our industrial control technology", said Lee Moulder, Sales and Application Director at Yaskawa Nordic. "The partnership with WSR combines innovative solutions for Industry 4.0 applications as well as enhances Yaskawa’s product offerings and solutions for our system integrators."
Applying the mixed palletizing software technology to palletizing aids in building dense, stable, and accurate mixed case pallets, that are safe to transport and easy to unload at the customer site.
