That’s a wrap on the SPS 2023: Automation in all its facets
For three days, the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre opened its doors to the world of international automation. “Best in Class Products and Solutions” – was the motto of the Yaskawa stand at the SPS 2023, providing a platform for several highlights.
Yaskawa made use of a special area to present the i³ Mechatronics industry sector, including the concept and advantages of Industry 4.0 production. “i3” stands for integrated – intelligent – innovative. This integrative approach comprises both existing and newly developed products and solutions for drive and control technology, and in-house software solutions as well as Motoman robots.
Once again, Yaskawa also focused on the iCube CONTROL automation platform at the SPS: The system forms a technically coordinated total solution for industry-specific controllers—including everything from engineering software and controller hardware to integrated chip technology. And it has the potential to do so much more. After this new platform was presented for the first time at the last SPS trade fair, the complete portfolio of the iC922x series of control systems followed this year.
The Yaskawa portfolio of HMIs and panel PCs also offered hardware and software innovations: The new generation can be programmed with new visualization software, as well as other things. This is integrated into iCube Engineer, the software environment of the iCube CONTROL platform.
With its embedded platforms and ASICs, Yaskawa also presented a complete, scalable automation system: from the backplane master to the high-performance three-core processor, visitors to the trade fair were able to find out about solutions for industrial automation.
In the area of elevator-specific frequency inverters, Yaskawa also provided an exclusive preview of the upcoming LA700 series: The newly developed devices are powerful and flexible, yet quieter to operate and can be programmed and monitored remotely using an app.
Another topic presented at the stand was the 300S+ high-speed control system, which Yaskawa is using to respond to the current changes in the automation industry. Compatible and available from stock, it makes the existing control environment well equipped for the future without any issues.
And not forgetting the Yaskawa robots, which you could also catch a glimpse of in action at the SPS: The topics of focus included the current Cobot ecosystem, Motoman industrial robots for handling, welding, palletizing and many other applications, as well as “made in Europe” robots.
