Yaskawa at EuroBLECH 2024 - Motoman robot and turnkey welding systems

For precisely 40 years, Yaskawa has been supplying robot-based turnkey welding systems from its own European system construction. It is drawing attention to this anniversary at EuroBLECH with a complex arc welding cell. The latest Motoman robot models for spot, laser hybrid, arc and cobot welding, as well as for handling tasks and control technology will also be topics at Stand D56 in Hall 26.

In the demo welding cell no less than four robots of the Motoman AR series will be operating on a battery carrier. Equipped with the arc welding sources of various manufacturers, they will be actively dancing, demonstrating the “multi-robot-synchro” function that ensures exact synchronization of the robots and positioner. The robots can be controlled either in sync or independently of one another in groups of two, three or four robots. The positioner, a RWV2, also originates from Yaskawa in-house production and is illustrative of welding systems of all sizes, as the company has now been planning and implementing in Europe for four decades.

For demanding tasks in arc, laser and spot welding

In addition, welding robots of the AR and SP series will be demonstrating their strengths in arc, laser and spot welding: the AR series supports every conceivable welding process. The SP series consists of highly flexible, powerful spot welding robots that are also suitable for handling applications. A laser hybrid application at the exhibition stand illustrates the advantages such as welding speeds, superior seam quality, more stable processes or reduced component distortion.

Collaborative welding with Weld4Me CE

The Weld4Me CE cell, a user-friendly, collaborative, robot-based arc welding station with a cobot HC10DT IP67A offers a solution for small and medium-sized companies with small batch sizes and a wide range of variants. As an easy-to-install alternative or supplement to manual MIG/MAG welding with air-cooled welding units, it boosts productivity, at the same time guaranteeing a consistently high welding seam quality.

Leading supplier of drive, servo and control technology

Finally, the company will be showcasing Motoman robot servo drives from own production. At EuroBLECH, however, Yaskawa proposes to demonstrate its competence not only as a leading supplier of drive and servo technology, but also of control technology. For example, the automation platform iCube Control will be progressive expanded to a comprehensive system for motion control and automation – and thus a technically coordinated, all-in-one solution for industry-specific controllers ranging from the engineering software to controller hardware and integral chip technology.
